Solar Army Patroller
(Travel Playset)
Printing and Assembly Instructions

These instructions are for the Solar Army Travel Playset kit.
Notes on Printing:

-
These models are designed to be printed with FDM using standard PLA filament, at .2mm layer height with a .4mm nozzle.
-
Any other layer heights, materials, or nozzle sizes may interfere with how some of the parts fit, or their strength. Refer to your own 3D printing knowledge or experience.
-
These were not tested with resin printing or designed with resin printing in mind. Attempt at your own discretion.
STANDARD DISCLAIMERS:
Using this requires a 3D printer and understanding of 3D printing process to print the STL model files. This folder only includes digital STL 3D Model files and Not actual physical models. After 3D printing, some assembly is required.
RealMechIsLove 3D Printable files have strictly non-commercial, non-distribution licenses and shall be downloaded for personal use only.

Selling 3D prints, posting content on Ebay, Etsy, Shapeways, Store or any other product or file sharing or distribution site is prohibited.

-
The orientation is already set for the parts, so how they are imported onto the build plate in your slicer, should be the orientation they need to print at. There should be no need to rotate or flip any parts.
-
All parts are recommended to be printed with organic or tree supports (on build-plate only).

-
These kits are artistically designed to be printed in 2 colors, but do not require multi-color printing. Feel free to print in only one color if you wish, or paint them up when completed.
-
The Patroller kit's colors are recommended to be green (any shade, or any color that works for a military motif, like navy blue could work) and gray (any shade of gray will do, or any drab color to represent the interior of a starship).
-
The part files are individually labeled with what color they are recommended to be printed in.
ONCE ALL PARTS ARE PRINTED, MOVE ON TO THE FIRST STEPS
TOOLS NEEDED:

-
Hobby Clippers (for cleaning and removing support bits)
-
Superglue (in case of broken pieces or if some parts are too loose)

-
First we carefully remove the supports and sprues from the micro-figures and Plasma Tank.

-
Snap on one of the Plasma turret to tank body. The turret should be able to rotate in place.

-
Insert connector pegs into back of the spinal rail cannon as shown.

-
Mount the spinal rail cannon to the center of ship hull. Take note of orientation and direction of main gun. Accidentally mounting it upside-down can cause issues for the playset to close properly.

-
Insert one of the bulkhead doors in the slot in between the two upper rooms as shown. Note the direction the door is facing with the little window at the top and the nub sticking out. That nub needs to be able to slide back and forth in the opening of the slot in the middle as shown. It will allow the door to open and close in place without sliding out completely.

-
Insert the other door on the other side as shown.

-
Insert the slide-out platform onto the main hull as shown. This is a loose connection so it may fall out until its appropriate room shell is snapped in.

-
Insert the other slide-out platform onto the other side as shown.

-
Snap in the armory room shell into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. The guns on the wall and empty armors should show through the shell. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Snap in the engineering room shell into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Snap in the command and crew quarters shell into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. One of the beds on the wall should show through the shell. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Snap in the mechanical repair room into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. The armor on the wall should show through the shell. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Snap in the elevator room into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Slide in the elevator by pinching the sides in and guiding the rails on the sides into the slots of the elevator room. The elevator should be able to move up and down, and lock in place in the all the way up and all the way down positions.

-
Snap in the cargo bay/tactical/mess room into its space as shown. Note the orientation of the room. The storage containers and the line of screens on the wall should show through the shell. There are two places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Insert the lock peg into the ship hull as shown. This peg is what locks the playset when closed.

-
Prepare the vehicle pod by first removing the support beam inside. This beam is only intended for print support and needs to be removed. Simply apply pressure with your thumb to the center of the beam and snap it. Once it has snapped in half, the two parts should be easily removed.

-
Move the vehicle pod into place on the ship hull. The next step will lock it into place with pegs. Right now note the orientation of the vehicle pod door. It should be open in an upward position as shown.

-
Snap in one of round pegs through the vehicle pod wall and into the ship hull as shown.

-
Snap in the other round peg to the other side. The vehicle pod should be able to rotate freely once both round pegs are locked in place.

-
The Plasma Tank should be able to fit snugly in the vehicle pod, and the door should close and lock in place.

-
Insert connector pegs into back of the engine thrusters as shown.

-
Mount the engine thrusters to the center of ship hull on its back as shown.

-
The Plasma Tank has a riding feature for the micro figurines. Micro figures from the Pax Attack Ship set also should fit inside as well.

-
The Patroller ship should be able to stand in place with the elevator locked in the down position, and the ship hull partially open with the vehicle pod laying flat and door open as shown.

-
With all micro figures fitting inside the rooms and the Plasma Tank into the vehicle pod, the ship hull should close up for transport.
