Pax Invaders Attack Ship
(Travel Playset)
Printing and Assembly Instructions

These instructions are for the Pax Invaders Travel Playset kit.
Notes on Printing:

-
These models are designed to be printed with FDM using standard PLA filament, at .2mm layer height with a .4mm nozzle.
-
Any other layer heights, materials, or nozzle sizes may interfere with how some of the parts fit, or their strength. Refer to your own 3D printing knowledge or experience.
-
These were not tested with resin printing or designed with resin printing in mind. Attempt at your own discretion.
-
These also have not been tested for sizing up or sizing down.
STANDARD DISCLAIMERS:
Using this requires a 3D printer and understanding of 3D printing process to print the STL model files. This folder only includes digital STL 3D Model files and Not actual physical models. After 3D printing, some assembly is required.
RealMechIsLove 3D Printable files have strictly non-commercial, non-distribution licenses and shall be downloaded for personal use only.

Selling 3D prints, posting content on Ebay, Etsy, Shapeways, Store or any other product or file sharing or distribution site is prohibited.

-
The orientation is already set for the parts, so how they are imported onto the build plate in your slicer, should be the orientation they need to print at. There should be no need to rotate or flip any parts.
-
All parts are recommended to be printed with organic or tree supports (on build-plate only).

-
These kits are artistically designed to be printed in 2 colors, but do not require multi-color printing. Feel free to print in only one color if you wish, or paint them up when completed.
-
The Attack Ship kit's colors are recommended to be orange (or any bold colors for cartoon-like aliens like purple or red) and white (or any lighter color will do, like pink or lime green, to represent the interior of a starship).
-
The part files are individually labeled with what color they are recommended to be printed in.
ONCE ALL PARTS ARE PRINTED, MOVE ON TO THE FIRST STEPS
TOOLS NEEDED:

-
Hobby Clippers (for cleaning and removing support bits)
-
Superglue (in case of broken pieces or if some parts are too loose)

-
First we carefully remove the supports and sprues from the micro-figures and Quadpod.

-
The Quadpod's legs should be able to fold in to go compact. The hinges are print in place and may need to have a small amount of pressure applied to break free. If they're solid and immovable, you may need to adjust print settings at least on this part.

-
Insert mounting pegs into the upper shell spine as shown. A total of 6 mounting pegs are needed.

-
Mount the right upper shell to the spine as shown. All 3 mounting pegs should create a tight fit between the seems of the right shell and spine.

-
When the upper shell is complete, it will create the hinge that connects to the lower shell. First fit the spike from the lower shell into the hole shown at the bottom of the right upper shell. This will be a loose fit so they will need to be held in place until complete.

-
While holding the spine and right shell, mount the left upper shell to the spine, while also making sure the lower shell's spike fits into the hole on the left upper shell. Once it's snapped into place, the upper shell and lower shell should be able to open and close like a clam.

-
The A note on the Upper Decks part, this can be tricky to print. I suggest "painting on" additional tree supports, depending on your slicer. Then being careful in removing the supports on the more thin areas.

-
The upper decks now need the prison door installed. Bring the prison door to its spike in the 2nd floor as shown. You may need to bring it at an angle and snap into place.

-
With the prison door snapped into place, it should open and close with a simple lock to hold it closed.

-
Mount the main Phase Array into the provided holes on the upper decks as shown. The orientation of the main Phase Array doesn't matter so it can be mounted upside-down.

-
Snap in the assembled upper decks into the upper shell as shown. Note the orientation of the room. Several features on the wall should show through. There are four places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Insert the lock peg into the upper decks as shown. This peg is what locks the playset when closed.

-
The upper shell should now be assembled and the micro-figures should be able to stand on the different decks when standing upright.

-
Insert a smaller Phase Array into the side wall hole with the spikes sticking out. Orientation does not matter, as after assembly the Phase Array should rotate and point in different directions.

-
Insert the other two Phase Arrays into the other holes as shown.

-
Snap in the lower deck into the lower shell as shown. Note the orientation of the room. Ensure the Phase Arrays are still in place as this piece should lock them in position. There are four places where tabs snap over and hold the room in place.

-
Snap on the ramp onto the hinge of the lower shell as shown. Orientation does matter, so take note which side is facing forward. Doing so incorrectly can cause issues when the ship closes its shells together.

-
The ramp should be able to rest in two positions, whether connecting to the upper decks, or hanging over the vehicle bay.

-
Insert a rotation bar into the right pontoon as shown.

-
Insert a ratchet mechanism into the bottom slot of the right side of the lower shell as shown. Note the side with the grooves is facing outside. Beware these may fall out until it is completely assembled so you may need to hold it in place until the pontoon is inserted.

-
Insert the other ratchet mechanism into the bottom slot of the left side of the lower shell as shown.

-
The Insert the right pontoon with rotation bar into the right side of the lower shell and ratchet mechanism as shown.

-
The rotation bar should end up flush with the circular fitting in the lower deck piece as shown. Once inserted the pontoon should be able to rotate in places, with soft locking in 8 positions.

-
Assemble and insert the left pontoon similarly to the left side of the lower shell as shown.

-
The vehicle bay door should snap onto the hinge of the lower shell as shown.

-
The vehicle bay door should be able to close and snap into the closed position. To open the vehicle bay door, simply push against the locking mechanism to release it.

-
The Quadpod with its legs tucked in should be able to fit in the vehicle bay with the door closed, and the micro-figures should be able to walk around the lower deck.

-
When the vehicle bay door opens and rests on the ground, it should release the Quadpod and its legs drop down into its crawling position.

-
The Quadpod has a riding feature for the micro-figurines. Micro-figurines from the SolArm Patroller set also should fit inside as well.

-
To transform into ship mode, turn the pontoons into a horizontal postion, move the ramp to where it's over the vehicle bay, and make sure the main Phase Array is standing upright.

-
With all micro figures fitting inside the rooms and the Quadpod into the vehicle bay, the ship hull should close up for transport.
